Structural Engineering Experience


Perform as Design Structural Engineer on small, medium, and large structures.  Perform structural
analysis of new structures and retrofit of existing structures.  Technical skills include foundation
design, Slab on Grade design, frame analysis of braced and rigid frames, seizing and detailing of
structural members and their connections including Hollow shapes.  Also, experienced in frame
supports of large vessels, crane and monorail supports, masonry walls design and retrofit, and the
retrofit of Pre-Cast frames.  Also, experienced in the design of platforms and catwalks.

Perform as Lead Structural Engineer on large process structures.  Manage a design staff of
approximately 15 engineers and designers.  Responsible for the completion of all the technical
deliverables, managing the schedule, budget, and related administrative duties.

Experience in the design of “Yard” structures including Tank farms, Silo foundation, and Pipe Racks
supports.  

Experience in Microsoft Word and Excel, AutoCAD, and various structural analysis software
including STAAD Pro.

Perform as primary contact on construction projects between field and office personnel.  Monitor of
construction progress, maintain records, review and /or modify shop drawings to accommodate
specific field situations.  Related skills include estimating, soliciting bids, and sizing of structural
components for design build estimates.

Act as a Resident Engineer during projects construction phases.  Experience in coordinating and
interpreting the structural drawings with the client representatives and the various subcontractor
personnel.  Related skills include field observation and the writing of field reports.

Commercial/ Institutional Projects, Multiple Locations.  Experience in the design of small to medium
size commercial and institutional buildings.  

Bay West Paper, Middletown, OH.  Retrofit of several building with varying framing
schemes, material of construction, and age.  

Eli Lilly, Lafayette, IN.  Retrofit of an existing pharmaceutical process structure.

Eli Lilly, Carolina, Puerto Rico.  New Biopharmaceutical facility.  The superstructure was a
combination of Modular construction and traditional stick-built construction.  

Shell Chemical, Pt. Pleasant, WV.  New five story Plastic processing structure.

Hunt-Wesson, Inc., Waterloo, IA.  New Pudding manufacturing campus.

Genzyme, Geel, Belgium.  175,000 sq. ft. Biopharmaceutical Bulk Manufacturing Facility and Utility
Expansion.

Wyeth Medica, Grange Castle, Ireland.  230,000 sq. ft. Drug Substance Facility.  

National Starch and Chemical Company, Indianapolis, IN.  Retrofit of a Starch processing plant in
Hamburg, Germany.  

Genentech, Inc., Vacaville, CA.  New 310,000 sq. ft. Biopharmaceutical Manufacturing Campus
project.
